Before eating, we place our hands together and say “Itadakimasu” to express appreciation for the lives that sustain us and for those who produce our food. After finishing a meal, we say “Gochisousama” as a further gesture of gratitude.
Japanese food culture is diverse, varying by region, and is deeply connected to the country’s beautiful natural landscapes.

Minami, WAKAKO

I worked as a registered dietitian at a hospital, gaining experience in nutrition counseling people with lifestyle diseases, and related duties. I studied food photography and food styling before becoming independent.
I later incorporated my business. I specialize in developing healthy recipes that are low in salt, sugar, and calories. I travel around the world to create recipes and videos that recreate the authentic flavors of different countries.
I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in medical sciences, researching the relationship between drinking habits and future kidney function.
